OVERVIEW
In 2025, Canva Create announced the latest update to its platform, unveiling a new suite of AI-powered tools and features under the banner of Visual Suite 2.0. This was shared with the world during their largest and most ambitious event yet, Canva Create 2025, drawing more than 4,000 in-person attendees and captivating over two million online viewers. The theme, Uncharted, embodied the spirit of exploration and the introduction of Canva Sheets, the company’s new venture into data and spreadsheets. We were engaged to support Canva in the lead-up to Unchartered, writing the product toolkit that would shape the narrative of Canva Create, and help to define how data-driven creativity is perceived.
WHAT WE DELIVERED
We developed the product toolkit, an internal document, that served as the foundation for all Unchartered copy. This document became the blueprint for the words during Canva Create, from the landing page to the keynote address, to the event experience itself. The toolkit seamlessly merged product messaging with brand storytelling, helping position Canva as a pioneering force of creativity and productivity.
As the Canva Create event itself unfolded in Los Angeles, our toolkit supported the creation of dynamic copy that resonated with a global community. It helped weave a narrative around Canva’s groundbreaking products, while amplifying the excitement and energy of the event.
Beyond the event itself, the toolkit influenced key aspects of the event's online presence, including where product launches were interwoven with stories from Canva and its community..
The product toolkit included new tools such as:
Visual Suite in One Design: A format that combines Canva’s core design types into a single file.
Canva Sheets: A spreadsheet product with features like Magic Formulas and Magic Insights, aimed at simplifying data tasks through automation and language input.
Magic Studio at Scale: Allows users to generate bulk content directly from spreadsheet data.
Magic Charts: Transforms data into interactive, branded visuals with minimal manual input.
Canva AI: A conversational interface that brings together Canva’s generative tools for creating and editing text, images, and layouts using voice or text prompts.
Canva Code: Enables users to create interactive elements like calculators and quizzes using text-based instructions.
RESULT
Canva Create 2025 became the brand’s most successful event to date. In the first week alone, it generated over 35 million social impressions and attracted more than 2 million views of the keynote. Community sentiment soared in the wake of the event, confirming that the fusion of creativity and productivity had struck a chord with global audiences.
